The Best Things in Life are Dreamed was published by Utu Connections, LLC, pronounced as (oo-too) a Sumerian term meaning “to give light”. Utu Connections was born in July of 2010 as a result of Author, Priscilla Edwards, finding herself with new found freedoms and healthy life transitions. Satisfying her insatiable desire to read, learn, inspire, and connect people to useful resources, The Best Things In Life are Dreamed facilitates heathy communication and goal-setting between father and son, or parental figures.

The focus is placed on beginning the conversation with children of their future aspirations, and reminding them that their dreams can become reality when they can visualize themselves as future doctors, engineers, Presidents, entrepreneurs, and CEO's. As a career consulting firm, Utu Connections specializes in transition services for adults 40 years and older, seeking career change and promotion, while simultaneously impacting their children and grandchildren through our interactive goal-setting nighttime read.

Meet the Author
Familial sayings and African proverbs were commonplace in Priscilla’s childhood home and the homes of other families and friends where she spent quality time. The intention of these “life lessons,” as Priscilla recalls, were to educate and motivate children to learn from their own as well as someone else’s mistakes, to recognize that every decision made would result in a consequence, and to think about consequences before acting.
Priscilla still cherishes those nuggets of wisdom and shares a few of her own life lessons with readers in her read-aloud children’s book, The Best Things in Life are Dreamed. She intends for young children to learn from and cherish these lessons as well.

Dubbed a thought leader and someone who is not apprehensive about asking the challenging questions, Priscilla is known as someone amenable to having difficult, authentic conversations. Born in Albany, Georgia, Priscilla grew up in an Indian town, in Long Island, New York, known as Wyandanch. She considers herself a native New Yorker having lived on Long Island since the age of two. Priscilla is an educator at heart, an authenticity advocate, mother of two children, and a grandmother who strives to maintain a healthy lifestyle inside and out.

Since graduation from Wyandanch High School:
-
Priscilla earned a M.A. in Speech Communication (emphasis: Organizational Development) from Ball State University. She holds certification as a Global Career Developer Facilitator (GCDF) from the Center for Credentialing & Education and certificates in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) from E-Cornell and in Executive Non- Profit Leadership from Fordham University.
-
She is a Momentum Education graduate, LT122 (Leadership Team 122), an Empathy Buddy and a student of the NVC (Non-Violent Communication) community of practice.
-
Priscilla is a member of The Greater Allen Cathedral in Jamaica, New York. She enjoys cooking for loved ones, traveling abroad, experiencing different cultures and cuisines, dressing up for special occasions, growing houseplants, learning the truth about American history, and engaging in “great read” book club discussions.

Priscilla’s career spans several years in workforce development and higher education in a variety of roles. Her book, The Best Things in Life are Dreamed, is a natural extension of her gift to educate. The book inspires children at an early age to think about what they dream of becoming, and sets the stage to discuss goal setting and action steps for success.
